Her Entrepreneur Journey

Julie was a stay-at-home mom to 3 children after getting married in her 20ā€™s. After her youngest went back to school, she had a crises trying to figure out what to do with her life. She always loved to write, so she started writing cheap SEO articles, but she felt like she wasnā€™t leveraging her skills. She started playing around with her own blog, and quickly transitioned into help people design their blogs and then websites. After her divorce, she knew her small business wasnā€™t going to pay all the bills, so she started searching and discovered the marketing side of online business.

Julie started to learn about funnels, and realized that there were so many people putting their design and copywriting skills to use and making so much more money, so she decided to pursue that. She got so good at her work that she started making significant amounts of money for other people, so she set out to create a funnel for herself, and created an online course around that. She worked with Russell Brunson and hit the notorious 2 Comma Club in the ClickFunnels world, and has been working as a funnel expert ever since.

What is the purpose of a funnel?

A funnel is a fancy name for a website thatā€™s in chronological order. Itā€™s a type of digital real estate but itā€™s set to a storyline where youā€™re only shown one thing, and once youā€™ve said yes to that thing, then youā€™re offered something, then something else, etc. Itā€™s simply a one-page-at-a-time site that you show to a prospect that helps them decide to buy. People need help focusing in on what they actually need, and a website leaves it up to them to search through everything you offer and figure it out. A funnel holds their hand and shows them what they need to take the next step.

A funnel takes your prospect by the hand and shows them what they need to take the next step.

What are the different parts of a funnel?

There are 5 asset you need to create any type of funnel:

1. The selling asset: This is the piece that actually tells them all about the product that youā€™re selling. It could be a sales page, a webinar, or a video presentation.

2. The cart asset: This is where the money actually gets transacted. Most people use order forms that the customer does themselves, but occasionally people do order forms over the phone.

3: The delivery asset: If youā€™re in the info-product space, this will be a memberā€™s area of some kind. If youā€™re an e-commerce business, your delivery will be tied to a manufacturing facility, shipping fulfillment, etc. If youā€™re an agency or service-based business, your delivery will likely be through email that then leads to a video conference call or something similar.

4: The follow-up asset: These can be emails, messenger marketing, retargeting ads, reminders inside the memberā€™s area if they purchased something but not everything. The point is getting back in touch with your customer if they didnā€™t purchase something.

5: The traffic asset: This is how you actually pull people into your funnel. This can be anything like social media marketing (organic or paid ads), SEO, podcasting, YouTube videos, blogging, PR, events, affiliates, etc.

Every funnel is complete when it has all 5 assets. The combinations are endless depending on what funnel youā€™re building. You can do a lead magnet type funnel as well where youā€™re giving something away for free, but youā€™re still requiring an email and have a follow-up asset.

What makes a funnel high-converting?

There are really 3 building blocks of a profitable funnel. You need a great offer, good copy, and really good design. These three things work together in different ways to make the magic happen.

Great offer + really good copy = irresistibility
Good copy + great design = positioning
Great offer + good design = trust

When you blend these 3 mixtures together really well, you create the elixirs you need to be profitable. Where those three things overlap is your bullseye and where you need to focus to convert.
