20 Women Share The Biggest Lesson they’ve Learned In Business This Year

Happy 100th Episode! It’s crazy to think that this is the 100th show, but I wanted to celebrate it by doing something special, so we’re doing another podcast roundup. This time around I asked our amazing previous guests to join me once again to share the biggest lesson they’ve learned in their business in the last year. With 20 incredible pieces of advice from women you know, love, and have already learned so much from, this roundup was the perfect way to come together to celebrate 100 episodes!

I might as well start with my own advice! If there’s anything I feel like we’ve all learned in the last year, it’s that you need to diversify everything - your income streams, your investments, and even your time. Having multiple income streams gives you the freedom to navigate any situation and mixing up how you spend your time and what you invest in gives you peace of mind!

Have a plan! Not just a plan for your monthly social media or marketing, but a real plan for the next quarters and years in your business. You need a roadmap to know where your going and need to know the exact steps you need to take to get there, then commit to taking those steps!

Do what makes you feel good. It’s easy to fall into the trap of what this person is doing or that blueprint says is best, but adopting someone else’s strategy won’t work. Think about what will make you feel good and have fun in your business, and then try that. Bring your purpose to life through your business and it will always remind you why you started to begin with!

There’s power in documentation. We all have our own ways of doing things - posting on social media, planning our marketing, onboarding clients, etc. so you need to document the steps you actually take to do those things. Map it out or screen record it, because when you start to outsource or hire a team, it will make it so much easier for them and save you time in training them.

Be so happy and grateful for where you are today because life is so much better when you love your life, AND you attract so much more success when you slow down and celebrate instead of already being so focused on the next goal. You may be on Chapter 2 of your book, but someone hasn’t even opened the book yet and wishes that they were where you are!

If you can just build relationships, the rest will come. Relationships are so important in business. The difference between people who succeed and people who struggle in business has nothing to do with their experience, their skill set, or their background. It has everything to do with if they believe in what they’re doing and if they value it. Next time you’re struggling ask yourself if you believe in and value what you’re doing, and success will be inevitable.

It’s just as important to make sure that your business is aligned with your soul and your mental health as it is with your bank account. We often think that the harder we push ourselves, the more we work, and the more profitable opportunities we pursue, the happier we’ll be, but the truth is you need to be aligned and act in your mission, and that is what will bring in more revenue and fulfill you.

I always come back to my favorite quote from Albert Einstein: “Your imagination is your preview to life’s coming attractions.” What you can visualize and think up for yourself becomes possible for you. It becomes a real, tangible potential reality, but you have to keep choosing it and showing up to get there. If you can create it in your imagination then you can create it in reality.

There are two big lessons that have shown up in the last year. 1) True leadership shines through during a struggle. You need to view everything as an opportunity to test you and mold you into a stronger leader. And 2) Your business has to be scalable. You have to have a business model that supports any and every curve ball that life will throw at you. You need to be able to scale your impact, your income, and your time freedom.

You are always learning. Even after years in business, you’ll always grow and evolve with your business. It’s always worth paying for the shortcut. If you want high profit, conversion rates, and success, then you need to find a mentor who has done this thing and done it well and is selling their process, and then buy their process. Find it and then implement and trust those processes. If you have the opportunity to purchase a shortcut that aligns with something you want to do, take advantage of that and save yourself time in the learning process.
